N. S. Kirabaev conducted the first comprehensive study of the social philosophy of the Arab-Muslim Middle Ages in domestic and foreign historical and philosophical literature. He presented the relationship of philosophy and Muslim law; the latter one is the key to Muslim ideology. Muslim law is considered as the first form of theoretical knowledge from which the main problems and methods of the humanities in the Arab-Muslim East originated. N. S. Kirabaev reconstructed the paradigm of classical Arab-Muslim philosophy, conducted an analysis of the formation and operation of the political and legal culture of Islam. N. S. Kiribaev represented fiqh in the form of the concept of state “sacred” legitimacy, influencing as a political doctrine the development of the Arab caliphate.

N. S. Kirabaev also extensively studied the issue of origin and development of,eastern peripatetism social philosophy (from the teachings of al-Farabi on the “virtuous city” to the concept of the ideal state of Ibn Rushd in the spirit of the ideas of “natural law”). Particular attention was paid to Ibn Khaldun’s philosophy of history, as well as the specialties of humanistic traditions in classical Arab-Muslim philosophy.

In a subsequent series of works, N. S. Kirabaev considered the problems of cross-cultural interaction between Western and Eastern civilizations, which reveal the problems of the openness of civilizations to dialogue, questions of stability of inter-civilization dialogue in the development of philosophical knowledge. As well as cross-cultural interaction in the context of the folding and resilience of Russia’s foreign policy doctrine.
