Announcing the completion of the project AR19679483 of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, titled “Scientific and Methodological Foundations for Integrating the Pedagogical Theories of al-Farabi’s Treatises into the Modern Education System”, we share the following information.

This project was carried out at the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak in 2023–2025. The project was led by the orientalist, PhD, associate professor Ikhtiyar Moldatoreuly Paltore.

I also took part in the research processes within the framework of this project, contributing through various analytical, systematization, and educational-methodological tasks.

The main purpose of the project is to study the scientific methodology for integrating the ideas of the great thinker, based on spiritual and moral values of virtue found in his heritage, into the modern education system in the formation of a “perfect human being.”

Object of the research: studying the pedagogical ideas based on spiritual and moral values of virtue contained in the philosophical, pedagogical, and socio-ethical heritage of Abu Nasr al-Farabi.

The principles of the project are objectivity, neutrality, and systematicity. As the central element of the research paradigm, methods of data collection, selection, analysis, description, generalization, as well as induction and synthesis, are applied. Within the project, I contributed to source analysis, text comparison, and the compilation of scientific materials.

During the implementation of the research work, the following scientific results were achieved:

– 7 (seven) scientific articles were published in domestic peer-reviewed journals recommended by the Science Committee;

– 2 (two) scientific articles were published in journals indexed in the Scopus database;

– In 2023, the international scientific-practical conference “Abu Nasr al-Farabi and the Medieval Muslim Pedagogical Heritage” was organized. The conference proceedings were published as a collection;

– In 2024, the republican scientific-practical conference “Al-Farabi’s Pedagogy and Modern Education” was held;

– A collective monograph titled “The Second Teacher – The Pedagogical Legacy of Abu Nasr al-Farabi” was published;

– A bibliographic index titled “The Educational Heritage of Abu Nasr al-Farabi” was prepared;

– An educational booklet for school students titled “The Path of Wisdom: The Life and Legacy of Abu Nasr al-Farabi” was published;

– Elective classes in the subject “Farabitanu” were conducted for 10th-grade students of the specialized lyceum named after al-Farabi in the Karasai district of the Almaty region.

One of the scientific novelties of the study is the development of a scientific classification of al-Farabi’s pedagogical heritage and the exploration of ways to introduce it into modern educational practice. It is expected that these results will contribute to the creation of a national pedagogical model and methodology.

Project outcome: The social function of the pedagogical theories found in al-Farabi’s works in the development of modern society has been described. Al-Farabi’s views on upbringing, education, teaching, as well as his understanding of the teacher’s role, responsibilities, and the competencies expected from educators, have been scientifically clarified.

The significance of al-Farabi’s pedagogical legacy for the development of modern education and upbringing, as well as for addressing key issues in the field, has been assessed. The research results, collected data, conclusions, and recommendations obtained within the project contribute to the understanding and promotion of humanistic values such as human perfection, wisdom, justice, modesty, patience, appreciation of the beauty of nature, understanding of historical laws and the mysteries of the universe, respect for the teacher-thinker, and others.
