Within the framework of a working visit to the city of Istanbul, the Kazakhstani academic delegation was received at a high level by the Director General of the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), Professor Mahmud Erol Kılıç. The meeting was held in the format of a substantive exchange of views aimed at strengthening mutual academic cooperation and studying Al-Farabi’s heritage at the international level. The official meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ashirbek Muminov, Advisor to the IRCICA Director General on International Relations, as well as Prof. Dr. Cengiz Tomar.

From the Kazakhstani side, the meeting was attended by Professor of the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Tursyn Hafizuly Gabitov, and Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Director of the Al-Farabi Research Center, Pirimbek Mukhanbetuly Suleimenov.

During the meeting, the results of previously implemented joint academic projects were analyzed, and issues related to the further development of academic ties initiated within the framework of the previous project were considered. In particular, discussions focused on the study of Al-Farabi’s philosophical and religious-political heritage based on manuscript sources, the translation of treatises that have not been fully introduced into academic circulation, and their publication with scholarly commentary.

In addition, the possibilities of conducting joint research on manuscripts preserved in the collections of this center, preparing materials for international academic publications, as well as organizing a congress and academic conferences dedicated to Al-Farabi’s heritage were discussed. It was noted that these initiatives fully correspond to the objectives of the fundamental research project entitled “The Contemporary Paradigm for the Study of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi’s Religious and Political Views (Based on the Manuscripts of the Treatises ‘Kitab al-Milla’ and ‘Al-Ilm al-Ilahi’)”, which is currently being implemented.
