Grand opening of the Farabi Center at Quaid University

The Farabi Center was opened at Quaid-e-Azam University. In this regard, an opening ceremony was held, attended by the State Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurbek Sayasat, and the Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Makbul Siddiqui, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Vocational-Technical Training Varana Mr. Nadim Mehboob, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, His Excellency Erzhan Kastafin, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Makbul Siddiqui, speaking at the event, said that the Farabi Center is a stable bridge between the two countries. This will contribute to the development of cultural ties, as well as scientific-research trends. They congratulated the heads of both institutions on the establishment of the Farabi Center.

On this occasion, the Minister of Science and Technology of Kazakhstan stated that Kazakhstan and Pakistan are very close to each other and have a shared past. Both countries can actively cooperate in the fields of knowledge, literature, poetry, research, and history. He noted that modern research under cooperation also provides scholarships for students, lecturers, and researchers in Kazakhstan and Pakistan. According to him, both educational institutions, in particular, can make significant work in social affairs, local studies, and other areas.

On this occasion, the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University also addressed the event. According to him, students and scholars of Al-Farabi KazNU and Quaid-e-Azam University can establish fruitful partnerships in historical-cultural, educational, and research fields. The relations of the two educational institutions can serve as a model for other countries.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Rector of Quaid-e-Azam University Professor Niaz Ahmed Akhtar thanked all the honored guests and said that our relations with Kazakhstan are not only regional and cultural but also religious, as a fundamental and important driver. He said that we have a great scientific and research potential and both Muslim countries can work in physics, metaphysics, AI, cybersecurity, and many other fields. He said that Kazakhstan is a fortunate country in history.

Great scholars such as Al-Farabi were present. They congratulated administrators, students, teachers, and researchers on the establishment of the Farabi Center.

The purpose of creating the Farabi Center is to promote the intellectual and philosophical heritage of Al-Farabi through educational, scientific-research, and academic activities. The Center is the creation of a sustainable platform for joint research and academic collaboration between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Quaid-e-Azam University.

In addition to the study of Al-Farabi, interdisciplinary studies of Kazakh and Turkish philosophy and exhibitions of modern scientific and technological achievements are planned. In this context, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, and collaboration in other new areas are presented as key factors.

To strengthen intercultural educational cooperation, the Center will also provide student and faculty exchange programs. The organization of educational seminars, workshops, conferences, and joint research initiatives at national and international levels is also aimed at developing international educational cooperation and strengthening organizational links between universities of Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and other partner countries.
