| Professor of Middle Eastern History and Islamic Studies, Head of the Department of Arabic and Semitic Studies, Director of the Center for the Study of Religions of the Sofia University of St. Kliment Ohrid (Bulgaria).
Simeon Evstatiev is a member of the European Union of Arabists and Islamic Scholars, the European Association for Near Eastern Studies, the German Society of Orientalists, and the German Association for Contemporary Studies in the Middle East. In 2016-2017, he worked as a junior researcher at the Leibniz Center for the Study of the Modern East in Berlin. Author and co-author of scientific papers published in Bulgarian, English and German. For example, “Religion and politics in the Arab world” and “Islam in society”. |
